The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) has posthumously awarded the Lucy Blair Service Award to Margot Miller, PT (1947-2015) former Chief Clinical Advisor for WorkWell Prevention and Care. This award was conferred at the APTA’s 2016 annual meeting which was held in Nashville, TN, June 8-11th.
The Lucy Blair Service Award honors members who have made exceptional contributions to the association through district, chapter, committee, section or national activities. The APTA represents more than 88,000 physical therapists, physical therapist assistants and students of physical therapy nationwide.
Lucy Blair, who died in 1985, was well known for qualities such as dedication to the physical therapy profession, self-sacrifice, infectious enthusiasm, outstanding professional and personal values, a sense of humor and a genuine concern and interest in everyone she worked with and met. In addition to sharing these same attributes, Margot Miller’s many contributions to APTA committees, to the APTA Private Practice and Orthopedic Sections and to the APTA Media Corps make her a most deserving recipient of the Lucy Blair Service Award.
